About Manali
Manali is a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in the Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh, sitting at 2,050 metres above sea level. It is one of North India's most visited hill stations, known for its dramatic mountain scenery, adventure sports, and vibrant backpacker culture. The town is split between Old Manali — with its cafés, apple orchards, and the ancient Manu Temple — and the main market area around Mall Road. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, dense deodar cedar and pine forests, and the turquoise Beas River, Manali offers something for every traveller: adrenaline-seekers, honeymooners, families, and trekkers alike. The iconic Hadimba Temple, built in 1553 amidst towering cedar trees, is one of Himachal's most photographed wooden pagoda-style shrines. Beyond the town, Solang Valley is the hub for winter and summer adventure sports, while the Rohtang Pass at 3,978m provides a gateway to the high-altitude deserts of Lahaul and Spiti.
