About Kullu & Kasol
The Kullu Valley and Parvati Valley form one of Himachal Pradesh's most beloved travel corridors. Kullu, at 1,200m on the Beas River, is best known for the annual Dussehra festival (October) — one of India's largest, drawing 200+ deities from across Himachal. The Beas River through Kullu is Himachal's premier white-water rafting destination, with Grade 2–4 rapids running 14 km from Pirdi to Jhiri. The Parvati Valley branches east from Bhuntar and follows the Parvati River to Kasol (1,580m), a compact backpacker village that serves as the base for some of Himachal's best treks. Kheerganga (3,050m) is the most popular — a 12 km trail ending at natural hot springs. Manikaran, 4 km from Kasol, holds a sacred Sikh Gurdwara and Hindu temple complex with natural hot springs that provide hot water to the langar kitchens year-round.

Things to do in Kullu & Kasol
From Kasol, the Kheerganga Trek (12 km one way, 1–2 days) is the standout experience — ending at a high-altitude campsite with natural hot spring pools and panoramic views. Other popular treks include Tosh Village, Chalal Village Walk, and Malana (known for its unique self-governing culture). In Kullu, river rafting on the Beas, visiting the Bijli Mahadev Temple (2,460m, 10 km from Kullu), and the Kullu Dussehra celebrations (October) are highlights.
