About Kashmir
Jammu & Kashmir's Kashmir Valley lies at an average elevation of 1,584 metres, enclosed by the Great Himalayas, the Pir Panjal range, and the Karakoram to the north. Srinagar, the summer capital, is built around Dal Lake — one of India's most iconic water bodies, lined with 1,500 houseboats and ringed by seven Mughal gardens dating to the 16th and 17th centuries. Beyond the city, the valley offers three of India's most celebrated mountain resorts: Gulmarg (2,650m, Asia's highest gondola), Pahalgam (2,130m, gateway to the Amarnath Yatra), and Sonmarg (2,800m, gateway to Ladakh). The valley is India's top tulip bulb producer and hosts one of Asia's largest tulip gardens, at its best in April. Autumn brings the famous Chinar colour, while winter transforms Gulmarg into India's premier ski resort.
Best time to visit Kashmir
Spring (March – May): Tulip Garden in full bloom (Asia's largest). Pleasant 10-20°C weather. Gardens at their peak. Summer (June – August): Peak season (20-30°C). All areas accessible. Amarnath Yatra season. Book early. Winter (December – February): Heavy snowfall, skiing in Gulmarg, frozen Dal Lake. Magical but cold (-5 to 5°C).
How to reach Kashmir
Sheikh ul Alam International Airport in Srinagar offers daily direct flights from Delhi (1.25 hours), Mumbai, Bangalore, and other major cities. The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (266 km) connects by road but is subject to weather closures; travel time is 6–8 hours when open. From Leh, the Srinagar–Leh Highway is scenic but only open May to October. Our packages include Srinagar airport pickup and Dal Lake houseboat stay on arrival.
Things to do in Kashmir
Top experiences include a morning shikara ride on Dal Lake to the floating vegetable market, visiting the Mughal gardens (Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, Chashme Shahi), a gondola ride at Gulmarg to Phase 2 (13,780 ft), trekking in Pahalgam's Aru and Betaab valleys, and a day trip to Sonmarg and Thajiwas Glacier. In Srinagar, the old city's Jamia Masjid, Shah Hamdan shrine, and the handicraft emporiums on Residency Road are unmissable.
Why Visit Kashmir?

A shikara ride on Dal Lake at sunset is iconic India. Stay in a traditional houseboat, visit floating markets, and watch the Mughal Gardens from the water.
Gulmarg & Pahalgam
Gulmarg's gondola ride (Asia's highest) and skiing slopes paired with Pahalgam's lush Lidder Valley — Kashmir's hill towns are unmatched.
Mughal Gardens
Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi — the terraced Mughal Gardens are Kashmir's living heritage, in bloom from March to October.
Ultimate Romance
Kashmir tops every honeymoon bucket list in India — houseboat stays, shikara rides, saffron fields, and snow-covered landscapes create unforgettable memories.
